OnePlus is one of the most popular Android smartphones around, thanks to its excellent displays and solid cameras. But how does it stack up against Apple’s offerings? In our OnePlus 10 pro v Apple 13 pro comparison, we take a look at the key areas to consider.
Display
OnePlus’s 6.7-inch QHD panel is the same as the iPhone’s, meaning it’s punchy and contrasty and delivers a sharp image. The big difference here is that the OnePlus can refresh down to 1Hz, while the iPhone only manages 10Hz. Both phones support Adaptive Display, which means you can adjust the display to match your viewing habits.
Battery life is also on par between the two phones, and both offer fast charging. The OnePlus can reach 93% in half an hour with the 65W charger included in the box, while the iPhone takes just over 24 minutes to get there.
Cameras
The OnePlus has a triple 12MP system with a wider, brighter ultra-wide sensor and a 3x optical zoom. It can also capture low-light shots with its Night Mode, which combines a series of images to create a single crystal-clear shot. The iPhone 13 Pro Max goes further with a new, larger telephoto sensor and adds its own version of Night Mode. It also has sensor shift stabilization, which can help keep shaky shots from becoming blurry mess.
Both have a wide array of other features, including portrait mode, HDR, and a manual mode. The OnePlus’s 150-degree ultra-wide lens and partnership with Hasselblad add a couple of extra perks that make it more unique. But if you’re an iPhone fan, the long-term support that comes with iOS is hard to beat.
OnePlus’s three years of software updates and four of security patches doesn’t quite stand up to the six or more years that most people get with an iPhone, but it still does better than many Android devices can. That, plus its lower price, could be enough to sway you away from the iPhone this time around.
